信用狀(Letter of Credit簡稱L/C或Credit)是進口商請銀行以銀行名義對出口商所發出的一封信，
告訴出口商只要合乎信內規定的事項提出匯票，將保證兌付款項，因此信用狀可以說是開狀銀行對出口商的一張承諾書。
>開狀申請人(Applicant for credit):向開狀銀行請求開發信用狀的人，通常就是進口商或買方
>開狀銀行(Opening Bank or Issuing Bank)
>受益人(Beneficiary):通常就是賣方或出口商，有時稱為匯票之開發人(Drawer)
>通知銀行(Advising Bank):依開狀銀行之請託，在出口地將該信用狀交給出口商的銀行
>押匯銀行(Negotiating Bank):即從出口商手中購入信用狀下匯票及單據的銀行，亦可稱為貼現銀行(Discount Bank)

接續前一篇三個範例後，接下來再介紹另外幾個相關範例:
範例四: 要求修改准許轉運，分批裝運及延展有效期限
Dear Sirs,

    We have received with thanks your contract No.___(契約編號) on ___(商品及數量) amounting in total of US$___(金額) on C.I.F basis. The covering L/C No.___(信用狀編號) has arrived in the amount of US$___(金額), however, we are asking for the following amendments:

1. Delete “Transshipment is prohibited”. Transshipment will have to be made at ___(地點).

2. Amend to “Partial shipments allowed”. We always like to have this proviso so as to eliminate the possibility of having ____(部分數量，如one or two dozen) short shipped, which nullify the entire L/C.

3. “Extend expiry and Shipment dates 15 days”. The subject L/C requires shipment to be effected by ____(日期). If we are lucky we hope to have this shipment go forward on a vessel leaving during the latter part of January, but if not, it will go on a vessel that will sail sometime between the ___(日期範圍，如:6th and 9th of February).

     Your prompt attention to the foregoing would be much appreciated.

範例五:信用狀過期不能辦理承兌，請辦理延期

 Dear Sirs,
     I have been informed today that our international unit is in receipt of a document which appears to be a letter of credit issued in ___(地點) by ___(買方公司名)for the benefit of our customer ____(賣方公司名) is the amount of US$____(金額).

    It seems this document was issued on the ____(開立日期) to expire ___(到期日期) and was received by our bank in ___(地點) after expiration.

    Additional discrepancies in the authorization to pay make this document non-negotiable and in fact not in conformance with the documentary standards of international letters of credit.

    I regret we cannot honor this document and must request you to inform your client of the circumstances explained above that make this necessary.

範例六: 請買家將信用狀及輸入許可證延期
